A Scottish native, Gerry Moffatt is an internationally acclaimed expedition kayaker who has spent over four decades guiding worldwide. Recognizing his regional expertise, National Geographic describes him as the most experienced river guide in the Himalayas; his notable achievements include first descents in Nepal, Bhutan, India, and Pakistan. With a significant background in film and television, Gerry has worked as a cameraman and on-camera personality, contributing to documentary films and television features for Atlantic Productions, National Geographic, Discover Channel, Outdoor TV, the Travel Channel, and BBC. He has twice reached the summit of Mount Everest as a cameraman, once from the North and once from the South. Recently, he was appointed Nepal’s first International Goodwill Ambassador for Adventure Travel and tourism. In his current roles, Gerry heads the Thunder Dragon Zen Masters Programming and is the Director of the Himalayan Outdoor Education Center program, which focuses on developing leadership and outdoor skills for Himalayan youth.
